If you want to help protect the rivers and streams that wind
through Elkhart County, there are many ways to get involved.
Here are a few:
 | Become a
Hoosier Riverwatch volunteer water monitor. Contact
Nancy Brown at the Elkhart County Soil and Water
Conservation District (574-533-3630 ext. 3).
|
 | Help mark storm drains with a message that reminds
people that these drains go to local waterways. Contact
Eric Kurtz at
or 574-533-3630 ext. 3 if you have a school, church, or
other civic group that would like to do this.
|
 | Join a local watershed protection group: the
Elkhart River Alliance or the
Friends of the St. Joe River.
|
 | Participate in a River clean-up: Contact one of the
watershed groups listed above. |
