Hoosier Riverwatch

Hoosier Riverwatch trains adult volunteers to monitor water quality in local streams, lakes, and rivers.  Volunteers attend an eight-hour training to learn the basics of surface water quality and how to assess water quality by examining the physical site, determining the type of macro invertebrates living on the water bottom, and conducting several chemical tests.  Hoosier Riverwatch also sponsors an Adopt A River program for stream clean-up.

Indiana Master Naturalist Program:  The Elkhart County Steering Committee is making plans for the Indiana Master Naturalist Program in 2010.  To be added to the 2010 Class waitlist, email Nancy .  Visit the Indiana Master Naturalist website to get more general information about the state program.
