Water Testing Program |
|
The SWCD provides a water testing program through
Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. Individuals interested in
testing their well water come into our office, purchase the kit with a
check made out to Heidelberg College, take the kit home, collect the water
sample, and then mail the water sample to Heidelberg College. It usually
takes six to eight weeks for results. Test kit information and
pricing is available by visiting the water quality lab website at
Heidelberg
College or by contacting
our office. |

The SWCD provides contractor information
for Agricultural and Urban conservation practices. The
directory can be viewed here. The directory is updated
on this website regularly. Contact the
office to be added to the list. |

|
The SWCD has an assistance directory that
lists the various Federal, State, and Local government offices.

2009 plat books
are available!!! They are $15.00 each. To purchase your plat
book, please stop in the office. We can accept cash or check for
payment. |

The SWCD has "Woodworking for Wildlife" and
"Landscaping for Wildlife" books for sale. They cost
$10.00 each. Both are published by the Minnesota Department of
Natural Resources. They can be purchased by stopping in our office. |

Indiana Department
of Natural Resources (IDNR) Tree Sale |
|
Order forms for the IDNR Tree Sale are
available in our office from September to April. Trees are available
in bundles of one hundred. This program is perfect for those who
need a large quantity of trees. The SWCD offers pick up service for
Elkhart County residents. The pick up fee is $5 a bundle.

our office for more information on the pick up service and to receive an
order form. Order forms can also be obtained by visiting the IDNR
website. More information about the program is also available at

Northeast Indiana
Conservation Camp |
|
The Northeast Indiana Conservation Camp study program includes hands-on activities in wildlife, forestry,
soils, and water. Education programs are presented by Natural Resource
Specialists. Recreational activities include sports, arts & crafts, boating
and swimming. Interesting games, refreshments and special evening programs
round out camp.
Camp application packets are now available. They are
due to the Whitley County SWCD by July 17, 2009.
